La Sagrada Familia building, Barcelona

Posted 1 year ago by soomo in response to avatar jessica's question: There's a weird surrealistic building not completed in Barcelona. Heard of it? (give a different answer) .

In Placa de la Sagrada Familia, there's indeed an architectural marvel designed by the Catalan Antoni Gaudi in the shape of a sand-melted castle. Just like the ones kids scribble at the seaside. He was an eccentric genius, practicing avant-garde style, who unfortunately was killed by a tram before finishing his twisted La Sagrada Familia. He combined lines of Picasso and Dali, but only the crypt, facade and apse are completed. Authorities are not certain it will ever be finished.
