If you can afford it, then the best hotel in that area is the Catalonia Moratin. I stayed there for a week last year and I paid 130 Euros a night. Nothing short of a 5 star hotel, this place offers almost anything you can imagine in terms of amenities. It's in a restored 18th century palace so staying there for a night is something special. You'll feel like a king. It's on Calle Atocha and you can get there by taking a metro to the Anton Martin station.
