During my stay in Madrid I got the habit of going for a beer - or two :) - at this great place called Cafe Del Nuncio. It's quite near the center, on Calle Segovia and has a very nice terrace where you can sit and enjoy a beer on a hot summer afternoon. Prices are decent and the "view" is incredible
