Bullfighting in Seville

Posted 1 year ago by roy in response to snoper's question: Where and when can I watch a bullfight? (give a different answer) .

The place that hosts bullfights in Seville is called the Plaza De Toros De La Real Maestranza. There is a bullring, a museum (Museo Taurino) and a chapel where matadores pray before fights. The bullring here is arguably the best in Spain.
Season starts from Semana Santa (Easter) and lasts until late October. Usually, corridas are held every Sunday or on special festivals. In July and August they occur every Thursday. You can buy tickets at the ring's ticket office, but there are some special occasions (like during Feria de Abril - two weeks after Easter), when you won't find any tickets here, so you have to buy in advance. Prices for tickets depend on the quality of seat and matador. The cheapest seats, 20 euros, are in the section grada del sol (in the sun), while the most expensive can go over 75 euros for a barrera de sombra, which means a front-row seat in the shade :).
